Ollie Connell Cox

Ollie Mae Connell Cox, known as Sister Ollie Mae, 81, a native and lifelong resident of Clanton, went to be with the Lord on June 30, 2009. She was born Dec. 19, 1927.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Samuel Cox; her parents, James Gemosie Connell and Biethie Moates Pierce; brother, James Walter Connell Sr.; and sister, Dorothy Baker.
She is survived by sons, Sammy Cox (Karen) and Gregg Cox (Kathy) of Clanton; daughters, Linda (John) Klinner, Regena (Charles) Huett and Rene Carter of Clanton; special friend and caregiver, Bro. Paul Byler, 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren; sisters, Myrtle Porter of Birmingham, Lucille Sheffield of Mobile, Norma Connell of Selma; numerous nieces, nephews and close friends; half-brothers, Clint and Wilburne Connell.
Visitation will be held July 1 from 6-8 p.m. at Victory Chapel Church, and services will be 10 a.m. graveside at Martin Memorial Cemetery, Thursday, July 2.
