God walks with you

“Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my meditation. Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray. My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee. The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity. Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the Lord will abhor the bloody and deceitful man. But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple. Lead me, O Lord, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face. For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue. Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee. For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield” (Psalm 5:1-12).

Thought for the week: “He Is With Me”
“Because my God is with me, he will wash away my tears. He will help me through my sorrows and conquer all of my fears. I’ll look for a brighter tomorrow when my day is sad and blue; I know the sun will shine again when each day dawns anew. The faith that God has given to me makes me strong in every way. It carries me through the rough times and helps me through the day. I’ll praise and glorify my God, the one who shelters me. He walks with me through my earthly life and through all eternity.”

Worship services at Holly Grove Baptist Church in Jemison began with praise service led by the youth choir in prayer, scripture and songs. Songs sung: “I’ll Fly Away,” “I’m Glad To Be In This Service” and “Jesus Is The Light.” The scripture was read by Willie Nunn with prayer by Carl Singleterry.
The morning message was given by Pastor Dukes. His theme: “Are You Caught Up In Trouble and Don’t Know What To Do?” Do you know to turn to God. When you turn to God, remember the enemy will pursue you. Serve God; he deserves your very best. Jesus is the light that shines in you. We are to be the light of the world (Matthew 14:22-33). How does Jesus handle trouble? We are living in a world full of trouble; it’s everywhere and attacks sometimes without a cause. We can cause it with choices we make. Sometimes trouble makes you recognize who God is. Real trouble comes out of nowhere. Jesus knows about real trouble, he sees what you are going through. Hold on; he is on his way. Jesus will step on the water for you. Imaginary trouble? It’s fear, but don’t be afraid; Jesus is with you. He will let you walk on real trouble.
Jesus told Peter to walk on water. Keep your eyes on Jesus. The devil is always present; he is always the same troubling you again and again. God has delivered you, so focus on Jesus — keep your eyes on victory. If you do, you will start to sink. Surrender to Jesus. When Jesus is aboard the ship, everything submits to him. The wind and waves obey his will. You may stumble and fall but keep your eyes on Him.
The service concluded with benediction led by Pastor Dukes.
