Four local baseball players were chosen Monday to advance to the final round of the annual East-West all-star tournament.

Chilton County High’s T.J. Henley, Tanner Powell and Justin Veazey and Jemison’s Kris Lowrey were all among 16 players chosen from about 40 players on either the East or West roster for Monday’s games, which were postponed from Saturday because of heavy rain in the area.

The 16 all-stars will form the Central Alabama team and compete in Birmingham against three other teams made up of players from around the state.

The East won both 8-inning games played Monday at Clanton’s Jack Hayes Field, 14-12 and 7-3.

Henley went 1-for-3 in the two games, and Veazey walked twice and scored a run.
