For many, this weekend will be an extended three-day holiday, hopefully kicking off the summer with time with family and friends.

In between the trips to the beach or lake and the cookouts, we ask that you offer a special moment of thanks to the American servicemen and servicewomen who gave the ultimate sacrifice — their lives — to the defense of our country.

Their selfless commitment to our country is what affords us the opportunity to enjoy holiday weekends such as this.
