The Thorsby Rebels 8-and-under softball team didn’t just win every one of its games this season—the Rebels won them convincingly.

“We were a pretty complete team,” said Ab Argent, who coached the team along with Daryl Davis and Larry Reeser.

In fact, Argent said the Rebels won every game except one or two via the mercy rule.

The team finished 14-0 and won its division.

Argent’s daughter, Adi, and Davis’ daughter, Karly, had to be scolded before one game for discussing how they were going to intentionally drop the softball while in the field.

“They just love to play, and they wanted to play a whole game,” Ab Argent said.

Ab Argent said team mom and league director Crystal Smith was crucial to the team’s success.

“She kept us all straight, trust me,” he said.
