Mayo Campbell Higgins, 78, of Verbena died Sunday, May 17 in Jemison.
She was born Thursday, Sept. 18, 1930 in Chilton County, daughter of the late A.Z. Campbell and the late Mary Lowery Campbell.
She was a homemaker.
Surviving are two sons, Robert Higgins of Jemison and George Higgins of Verbena; two daughters, Alice Manor of Cullman and Betty Patterson of Verbena; 11 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren; three brothers, Chester Campbell of Pell City, Hermas Campbell of Thorsby, George Campbell of Thorsby; four sisters, Gertrude Maudlin of Thorsby, Juanita Childress of Thorsby, Mary Nell Beasley of Thorsby, Ruth Scott of Birmingham.
She was preceded in death by Benjamin Higgins, husband; Bennie Jo Headley, daughter; Robert Campbell, brother; James Campbell, brother; Neeley Bean, sister; Donnie Smith, sister.
Services were held Tuesday, May 19 at 11 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donald Jones officiating.
Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel No. 1 Baptist Cemetery, in Thorsby.
