New Camaro a hit

The new Chevrolet Camaro was unveiled Saturday at Stokes Automotive in Clanton to favorable reviews.
“People like the car better than the pictures,” said Kirk Stokes, owner of the car dealership.
Stokes said people had been impressed with the new Camaro’s design but also with its specifications.
The V-6 automatic features 304 horsepower and 29 highway miles per gallon for about $28,000. The V-8 automatic, meanwhile, features 400 horsepower and 24 highway miles per gallon.
“If you’re worried about fuel mileage, why not go ahead and get the V-8 because it gets just about as many miles a gallon,” sales representative Donnie Headley said.
Clanton resident Jarrett Jett said he liked the new Camaro, the first addition to the popular line of cars since 2002, because it looks sporty but still captures the spirit of the classic Camaros.
“They did it perfect,” Jett said. “It’s my favorite car. I’d rather have a Camaro than anything else in the world.”
Stokes, a family owned and operated business that has served Clanton and surrounding areas since 1954, plans to move into a new facility in late July.
