The news team at The Clanton Advertiser appreciates the many news photographs that have been brought in or e-mailed to them to be shared with all readers.

A couple of weeks ago, we asked residents to consider sharing the pictures they take of events that occur in Chilton County. The response has been great.

I hope you will join other photographers in the area and share with us the photographs you take at church, school and other civic events that will give recognition to those in the photographs for what they have accomplished. It is an easy way to help recognize people you know for what they are doing in our community and for your pictures to become part of Chilton County’s recorded history on the pages of The Clanton Advertiser.

With today’s digital photography, it is simple to upload your pictures to in a jpeg format. Please include the name of the photographer, the names of the people in the photograph and details about the event— where and when the picture was taken.

The next time you take a news-worthy photograph, please e-mail it or bring it into our office at 1109 7th Street South in Clanton.

Talking about photography, the Advertiser Editor Tim Reeves plans to take a group picture of those who attend our Business After Hours Thursday night in our building around 5:15 p.m. He plans to process the picture and run it on our newspaper press shortly thereafter to give a souvenir for being our guests.

I hope you will join us at our Business After Hours Thursday night at our office. You’ll have an opportunity to see a newspaper press run and you might just get your picture in the newspaper.
