The Clanton Advertiser will unveil a new Weekend edition next weekend.

The edition will feature a separate sports section focusing on local sports and a lifestyles page spotlighting local people, places and events.

In the process, The Advertiser will be merging the Saturday and Sunday editions into this larger, multi-section Weekend edition.

“We are focused on giving a high-quality product to our readers, and we feel this move further advances that goal,” Clanton Advertiser Publisher Mike Kelley said. “We are really excited about this move.”

The Weekend edition will be delivered each Saturday morning with no newspaper being delivered Sunday morning.

News and sports events that take place on the weekend will be immediately published on The Advertiser’s Web site at clantonadvertiser.com.

The church news pages that had been published each Saturday will now be published in each Thursday’s edition of The Clanton Advertiser.

The new local sports section will feature a local ‘SportsWeek’ calendar, providing details on area sporting events and highlighting television sporting events of interest.

The weekly players of the week will also now be published in the Weekend sports section.
