This year, the Relay for Life of Chilton County is moving their annual cancer survivor’s event to the day of the actual Relay for Life event.
The Survivor’s Reception will be on April 24 at 5 p.m. at the Little League football field just before the Relay for Life.
The cancer survivor’s event was changed to the day of, hoping more cancer survivors would attend the event.
Survivors are asked to park in the parking lot right off of Hoyt Brownie Road. The survivor tent will be directly in front of the parking lot.
This year the speaker for the survivor’s reception will be Jody Miller, a cancer survivor from Calera. She is the chair of the Relay in Calera and is an American Cancer Society Hero of Hope.
Right after the reception, cancer survivors are asked to stay so they can take the first lap of the Relay for Life event.
To RSVP for the survivor’s reception and to guarantee your Relay For Life survivor t-shirt, contact Linda Hand at 755-1903 by Wednesday, April 15.
