Chilton County’s soccer team battled back from a 4-1 halftime deficit at Talladega on Wednesday but came up short, 6-5.

Talladega edged a goal in on a header from one of their side players to make it 1-0. As the game progressed, the left side of CCHS’s defense broke down and Talladega managed to score two more goals. Noe Chavez scored a goal before halftime for the Tigers, but the hosts still had a large lead.

CCHS made some adjustments at the half, though, and came out strong. The mid-fielders and strikers got more aggressive with their passing into Talladega’s defensive area.

Chavez scored on an untouched corner kick, Doman Lopez scored two goals and Zack Jones scored one goal, but it was not enough.

The Tigers (2-2) visit Sylacauga at 6:30 p.m. on March 31.
