Martin votes to bring up bill

Rep. Jimmy Martin voted in favor of bringing up the grocery tax bill for a debate Tuesday.
The bill, which if passed and approved by voters would have repealed the state’s tax on groceries and a credit for federal income taxes paid, failed to get enough votes in the House of Representatives. The House voted 56-42 for the bill, but that was short of the 59 votes needed to bring it up for debate in the 104-member House.
