Close call
The Clanton Fire Department responded to a fire alarm activation at Friendship Baptist Church around 7 a.m. Saturday.
Officials on the scene said smoke filled the building, but there was no apparent damage.
Clanton Fire Chief David Driver said firefighters on the scene said there was smoke coming from the church’s heating system.
