Lewin Wesley Riggins, 77, of Clanton died Tuesday, March 3, at his residence.
He was born on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1932 in Chilton County, son of the late James Corbett Riggins and the late Susan Iona Lowery Riggins.
He was a machinist.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Frances Riggins of Clanton; two daughters, Mrs. Sandra (Gene) Minor of Clanton and Mrs. Karen (Ray) Blankenship of Clanton; four granddaughters, Mrs. Emily (David) McCurdy of Clanton, Mrs. Amy (Darryl) Bice of Clanton, Mrs. Jill (Jason) Easterling of Clanton and Mrs. Rebecca (Wesley) Powell of Clanton; great-granddaughters, Elizabeth and Madelyn Bice of Clanton; great-grandsons, Will and Gabe McCurdy and Alex Bice of Clanton; two sisters, Mrs. Louise Bates and Mrs. Lorene Mims, both of Clanton.
Services were held Thursday, March 5, at 11 a.m. at Providence Baptist No. 2 with the Rev. Glenn Bonds officiating. Interment will follow in Providence No. 2 Baptist Cemetery.
