The Chilton County YMCA this weekend will host its Spring Gymnastics Competition.

One hundred seventy gymnasts from 10 different gyms from around the state will compete in the USA Gymnastics-sanctioned competition.

The meet will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday.

The YMCA gymnasts tuned up to defend their home court last weekend by competing in the Elite Cup competition, which was hosted by JFJ Elite Gymnastics at Hoover High School.

Level 7 gymnast Julianne Lyn placed third on vault with a 9.2, sixth on bars with an 8.5, eighth on beam with an 8.45, second on floor with a 9.25 and sixth all-around with a 35.4.

Amanda Gray, also competing at Level 7, placed sixth on vault with an 8.9, ninth on bars with an 8.75, fifth on beam with a 9.275, first on floor with a 9.475 and fifth all-around with a 36.4.

Abreia Bulger placed eighth on vault at Level 8 with an 8.0, third on bars with an 8.75 and seventh on beam with an 8.35.
