Thorsby’s baseball team was able to overcome five errors Thursday to win its first area game, an 8-0 decision over Shades Mountain Christian.
The Rebels (8-0) were struggling in a 0-0 tie until a Joseph Prather single scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
That got the bats going. Brantley Bice would up with two hits, as did Blake Elkins and Drew Minor. Each also scored a run.
Bice (3-0) was the winning pitcher. He allowed five hits and no walks in seven shutout innings while striking out four.
