Snowmen and snowball fights might be the norm today in Chilton County because at least one one inch of snow has fallen.

Even though yesterday’s high temperature at the Chilton Research and Extension Center in Thorsby recorded a high temperature of 65 degrees, today the temperature has hovered around freezing as a storm system has brought snow to the area.

The National Weather Service is predicting two to three inches of snow.

Many churches have called off services this morning due to slushy roads and some icy bridges. No official word has been released on whether schools will be closed tomorrow.

A winter storm warning has been issued until 3 p.m. today.
