“Chilton County has been very good to Red Turnipseed over the past 34 years,” Turnipseed, a county commissioner, said about his time in the county.
Because of that, Turnipseed said his hope is that he can give back to the people of the county.
Turnipseed has done that as a juvenile probation officer since he moved here in 1974. Turnipseed has also been involved with Red Cross, River Church, the Chilton County CITY Program and Project GEAR.
Turnipseed’s latest effort to give back to the county is his work as a commissioner. He was elected in 2008.
“During my time here, I have made many contacts in state government and in the private sector of business,” Turnipseed said. “I would hope that through these contacts I would be able to return some of the blessings to Chilton County that this county has helped bestow on me.”
Turnipseed and his wife, Linda, have been married for 28 years.
