Racing action returns to Shelby County Speedway

Shelby County Speedway will host its open practice on Feb. 28, and the staff for 2009 will be on hand to answer any questions that drivers and fans may have.
The 2009 regular weekly divisions will be on hand, including Crate Late Model, Thunder and Lighting, Hobby, Pure Stock, Modified Pony, Pure Pony, Road Hogg and Buzz Car.
Gates will open at noon.
For each week of the 2009 race season, fans and drivers can expect some of the best dirt track racing in the South. Drivers from all over the southeast will be at the track each week, the track will also feature games, prizes, a family atmosphere, clean facilities, good food and security provided by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department.
“Knock-Out” racing will return for the ‘09 season with the first event on March 21.

March 14 will begin the points season with all divisions racing, and, on this same night, SCS will host the Prettiest Race Car Contest.
