Service was fitting for Culp

Funeral services for Charles Culp of Jemison could not have been more fitting for a man who worked hard to serve his community.
Monday, firefighters lined up along County Road 51 to give one final salute to the Union Grove fire chief, who was the department’s only chief from its founding in 1977 until his death. Members of other emergency agencies were also there to pay their respects along with the family, friends and others whose lives were touched by Mr. Culp.
The ringing of the bell, emergency helicopter flyover, and the final call given by Chilton County E-911 over Union Grove’s pagers all were unique and appropriate ways to pay tribute to the late fire chief. You will be greatly missed, Mr. Culp.
