Gary Dewayne Mims, 50, of Clanton died Sunday, Feb. 8, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, Alabaster.
He was born on Wednesday, April 9, 1958 in Chilton County, son of the late James Mims and the late Dovie Mae Thomas Mims. He was a laborer.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Eva Mims; three sons, Mr. Richard Bolton, Mr. Dewayne Mims and Mr. Brandon Mims; two daughters, Miss Tonya Mims and Mrs. Melissa (Jimmy) Brasher; three grandchildren, Felicia, Brantley and Austin; a number of nieces and nephews; sister, Mrs. Cheyene Mims.
Services will be held today, Feb. 10, at 3 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Pete Burnett officiating. Interment will follow in Chilton Memorial Gardens, Clanton.
