Chilton County emergency officials have responded to two rollover crashes within minutes of each other this afternoon.

One occurred on County Road 9 outside Clanton City Limits and the other happened on I-65 near the Shelby County line.

The crash on County Road 9 occurred at 12:53 p.m. just south of County Road 369. An SUV was traveling south toward County Road 16 when the vehicle lost control in a curve, hit a slight embankment and rolled over.

The Fairview Fire Department along with state troopers and the Chilton County Sheriff’s Department responded to the crash. The female victim was ejected in the crash, and she was airlifted to the hospital from a landing zone near the Peach Water Tower in Clanton.

No one else was in the SUV, and no other vehicles involved in the crash.

Her condition or identity was not immediately available.

On I-65 46 minutes later, a car hit a guardrail and rolled over in the median near the 223-mile marker. The victim was transported to Chilton Medical Center, and no one else was in the vehicle.

Union Grove Fire Department responded to the crash. According to fire officials on the scene, they believed the crash was caused by medical conditions experienced by the driver.
