HOUSTON — Wesley Jones scored 21 points to lead Alabama State to a 72-56 victory over Texas Southern Monday night.

Jones had three 3-pointers. Andrew Hayles contributed 15 and Brandon Brooks added 14 with 13 assists for Alabama State (11-8, 8-1 SWAC).

Sollie Norwood scored 18, including five 3-pointers, for Texas Southern (2-20, 2-7). Ricky Boyles and Deandre Hall contributed 10 each.

Alabama State led 39-25 at the half.
