Velma Traywick Cox, 91, of Clanton died Tuesday, Jan. 27, at Hatley Health Care, Clanton.
She was born on Thursday, Dec. 20, 1917 in Chilton County, daughter of the late J.W. McDowell and the late Pallie Scarbrough McDowell. She was a retail store manager.
Surviving are her daughter, Barbara (Floyd) Collins of Clanton; son, Paul (Peggy) Traywick of Clanton; three grandchildren, Donna Baker, Jeff Traywick and Lisa Morgan; four great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2-3 p.m., today, Jan. 28, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held today, Jan. 28, at 3 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in Poplar Springs Baptist Cemetery, Clanton.
