Chilton Christian Academy on Friday fell behind early and could never catch up in a 42-34 loss.

Visiting Calvary built an 18-10 lead by the end of the first quarter by jumping into passing lanes and turning the turnovers into lay-ups on the other end.

CCA cut the lead to five on a few occassions in the second quarter but went into the locker room down, 28-21.

The deficit grew to as much as 14, though the Patriots (6-8, 5-2 conference) did cut it to 40-33 when Summer Hall stole the ball, dribbled ahead and found Alissa Harris under the goal for two points.

But there were only 57 seconds left at the time, and Chilton could never get any closer.

CCA will need a win in its season finale against Mellow Valley on Feb. 6 to take second place in Southern Conference Area A and earn the right to host a first-round playoff game.

Greda Brock led the hosts with 13 points.
