Judy Ann Thornton, 56, a resident of Prattville passed peacefully from this earth on Thursday, Jan. 8, at a Montgomery hospital.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Jan. 11, at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Prattville Memorial, with the Rev. Larry Hadden officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing.
“Miss Judy” will always be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and as talented culinary specialist, who was dearly loved and will be deeply missed. Her professional career spanned 30 years with the State of Alabama serving as an accounting clerk in several different departments.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Michael W. Thornton; two daughters, Amanda (Chris) Cunningham and Tiffany Danielle Thornton; twins, Michael Jared Thornton and Mitchell Justin Thornton; two grandchildren, Clay Cunningham and Dillon Cunningham; her father, Bill Blackerby; and two sisters, Betty (George) Stinson and Darlene (Brad Killingsworth.
Players of the Championship Prattville Football Team will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on this evening from 6-8. Everyone is invited to attend a reception at the Destiny Center on Highway 14, following her service on Sunday.
