John Herschel Blalock, 49, of Clanton died Sunday, Dec. 28, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, Alabaster.
He was born on Saturday, April 18, 1959 in Autauga County, son of James Herschel Blalock and Lois Wilson Blalock. He was a carpenter.
Surviving are his two daughters, Ashley Blalock of Clanton, Shelley Blalock of Clanton; two sons, Blake Blalock of Clanton and Cody Blalock of Clanton; father, the Rev. Herschel Blalock of Clanton; mother, Mrs. Lois Blalock of Clanton; two sisters, Pam Srinivas of Charleston, S.C., Angie Radmer of Longview, Texas; very close friend, Tonya Connell of Clanton.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kadence Lee.
Friends were received from 5-7 p.m., Monday, Dec. 29, at Martin Funeral Home. Services will be held today, Dec. 30, at 1 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doug Powell officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Springs Cemetery, Clanton.
