Gun violence claims Selma teen’s life

Selma police are investigating the weekend shooting death of a 16-year-old boy.

Authorities said Rahemeen Garner died Saturday from a gunshot wound to the chest.

Police said Garner was shot by another teenager late Friday night. A 17-year-old male was arrested and faces a murder charge.

Authorities declined to identify the suspected gunman because of his age. But Selma Police Chief William T. Riley III said its likely the juvenile will be charged as an adult.
