Sheila Ruth Payton, 55, of Clanton died Monday, Dec. 22, at her residence.
She was born on Saturday, November 21, 1953 in Birtonwoon, England, daughter of Harold David Thomas and Doris Delene Terrel. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her two sons, Mark Payton of Clanton and Shannon Payton of Jemison; six grandchildren; parents, Harold and Dot Thomas of Clanton; brother, Michael David Thomas of Clanton; sister, Barbara Sue Jones of Bessemer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Payton; Sister, Mona Melinda Thomas and Grandson, Korey Dale Payton.
Friends will be received from 10-1 p.m., Friday, Dec. 26, at Martin Funeral Home.
Services will be held Friday, Dec. 26, 2008, at 1 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Vanderslice and the Rev. Simon Bussie officiating. Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery, Clanton.
