John Hendricks Hamilton Sr., 86, of Clanton died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, Alabaster.
He was born Tuesday, Dec. 5, 1922 in Jefferson County, Ala., Son of the late Hugh Hamilton and the late Lillie Hendricks Hamilton.
He retired with U.S. Steel as a locomotive maintainer.
Surviving are his wife, Amanda Hamilton of Clanton; daughter, Constance Hamby of Clanton; son, John Hamilton Jr. of Jay, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
