Alan and Lesia Childress of Clanton are proud to announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter Katelyn Claire Childress to Zachary Scott Champion, son of Jeff and Jackie Champion of Jemison.

Childress is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elvi of Clanton; Ms. Peggy Cox of Clanton; Ms. Dianne Childress of Thorsby and Mr. Benny Childress of Gadsden. Childress is a 2006 graduate of Chilton County High School and is attending Auburn University-Montgomery where she is studying nursing.

Champion is the grandson of Jackie Busby of Jemison. He is a 2003 graduate of Bessemer Academy and is a 2008 graduate of Louisiana Tech where he studied sociology. He is a quarterback for the British Columbia Lions in Vancover, Canada.

The wedding is set to take place on Dec. 20 at New Life Community Church in Clanton. Invitations will be sent but all friends and family are invited to attend.
