Every year the Clanton Christmas Parade continues to grow. This year there were 65 entries for the parade.

“This is an event that many people enjoy and it has really started to be a big tradition with some families,” Rotary Club member Roger Yeargan said.

The Clanton Christmas Parade has been sponsored by the Clanton Rotary Club for the past three years. The City of Clanton provides money for the winners of the float contest.

Three winning floats are presented with prizes of different monetary amounts. First place is awarded $150; second place is awarded $100 and third place is awarded $50.

This year the winning floats were first place Reynolds Wood Products from Maplesville; second place Southern Care hospice from Clanton and third place Realty South from Clanton.

“We are happy that we get to be part of this event every year,” Yeargan said.
