Chilton Christian Academy started both the first and second quarters strong Friday night but didn’t let Brooklane back in the game the second time. CCA won, 58-46.
The win gives the hosts the opportunity today to defend home court and win their Patriot Invitational tournament. Chilton will take on Freedom Life – who defeated Cahawba Christian Academy 51-47 – at 1:30 p.m.
Brooklane and Cahawba will meet at 10:30 a.m. to decide third place.
The Patriots (5-5) went up 11-0 to begin the game on Friday when Tim Harris drained a 3-point shot out of an inbounds play halfway through the first quarter.
The Eagles (5-3) made a run of their own and tied the game at 13 at the end of the quarter, but CCA outscored its visitors 8-1 to begin the second period and never looked back.
Harris and Zac Pierce led Chilton with 12 points each. Both Zach Brown and Will Clark had 10 points.
Brooklane was paced by the 16 points put up by both Joel Gibson and Michael Adams.
