City officials have said they will have the annual Christmas tree lighting tonight as planned.

The event will begin at 5 p.m. with the tree lighting planned for about 6:45 p.m.

It has rained in Clanton all morning, but the rain is expected to clear out this afternoon behind a cold front.

The temperature should fall into 40s tonight during the program. The low is expected to be around 33 tomorrow morning.
