AUBURN – Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville and athletic director Jay Jacobs are still in talks regarding the future of the football program.
Tuberville was meeting with Jacobs for the second straight day Tuesday afternoon, a day after having his annual end-of-season review with university President Jay Gogue.
The Tigers struggled to a 5-7 record, their worst in 10 years. The troubles also included the midseason firing of a first-year offensive coordinator and the season-ending 36-0 humbling at No. 1 Alabama.
He signed a two-year contract extension a year ago that included a $6 million buyout if he loses his job this year. Tuberville hired Tony Franklin to install a spread offense that worked in a bowl win over Clemson but never clicked again.
