Willar “Granny” Jean Davenport, 72, of Clanton died Thursday, Nov. 27, at her residence.
She was born on Wednesday, July 8, 1936 in Chilton County, daughter of the late Ernest E. Davenport and the late Essie Faye Shaw Davenport. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her three Daughters, Pam (Loren) Simmons of Clanton, Ruby (Milton) Varden of Clanton and Heather (Freddy) Jones of Cumberland City, Tenn.; three sons, Billy (Tammy) Davenport of Clanton, Roger Davenport of Clanton and Jeremy (Ramona) Davenport of Clarksville, Tenn.; 18 Grandchildren, 34 Great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, adopted children and grandchildren; two sisters, Minnie Mae Childress of Thorsby and Mary Ann Rollins of Spanish Fort; two brothers, Charlie Davenport of Maplesville and Junior Davenport of Clanton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Davenport, two sons, Tommy and Eddie Davenport; two grandsons, Jerry and Terry Mims; father, Ernest E. Davenport; mother, Essie Faye Shaw Davenport; three sisters and two brothers.
Friends were received after 5 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 29, at 788 County Road 948, Clanton.
Services will be held today, Nov. 30, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Baptist #1 with the Rev. Randy Langston, the Rev. Rusty Jones and the Rev. Robert Sandifer officiating.
Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Baptist #1 Cemetery.
