Billingsley on Monday dominated the paint and took advantage of a poor shooting night by Isabella in its first game of the season to take a 57-40 win.
Jay Tyus scored 24 points for the Bears (2-1), played solid interior defense and, along with teammate Raphael Brooks, controlled the glass.
Brooks added 10 points, and Travis Ivy scored nine.
Billingsley’s length kept the Mustangs from scoring inside, and the Isabella shooters couldn’t consistently knock down the outside shots.
Isabella made only four of 22 shot attempts in the first half and missed 17 free throws in the game.
Brandon Veazey scored a team-high 12 points, and Brian Donovan had a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
