NWS: Expect near-normal winter temperatures

After last year’s warm winter, people are a little unsure of what to expect this year.

National Weather Service Meteorologist Kevin Laws projects a normal to slightly above normal holiday season.

“We have had to put out a freeze warning already, and we will be seeing another few nights of freezing temperatures this weekend and the beginning of next week,” he said.

Today’s temperature is predicted to be around 39 degrees in the morning and could only reach as high as the mid 50s by the middle of the day, while Monday morning is predicted to be freezing at 32 degrees with a high of 50 degrees for the day.

The cold is set to disappear later this week, however, as the temperatures again rise.

Laws said that with the current weather predictions, the next few months are set to be at normal temperature ranges and below normal rainfall.

With normal weather conditions, this Thanksgiving and Christmas season will hopefully be enjoyable with highs around 50 degrees, meaning everyone should get to wear that Christmas sweater they have been saving for a cold day.
