Richard Chester Hayes, 80, of Clanton died Monday, Nov. 10, at his residence.
He was born on Sunday, Oct. 7, 1928 in Alabama, son of the late Richard Albert Hayes and Julie Hayes. He was a welder/electrician.
Surviving are his son, Mr. Johnny (Carol) Hayes of Jemison; three Sisters, Mrs. Dean Roper of Clanton, Mrs. Pauline Arant of Atlanta, Ga., and Mrs. Essie Anderson of Clanton; brother, Mr. Linwood Hayes of Jemison; grandchildren, Ashley and Drake Hayes of Jemison.
Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 12. Services will be held Thursday, Nov. 13, at 11 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony Smitherman officiating. Interment will follow in New Cedron, Billingsley.
