Bears run over DCHS

Jamar Hopson and Tim Simon combined for 374 rushing yards and four touchdowns as Billingsley on Thursday night defeated Dallas County High, 31-14.
Hopson, who rushed for 245 yards on 20 carries, scored the game’s first points on a 4-yard run with 6:59 remaining in the first quarter, and Jay Tyus found paydirt on a 16-yard run with less than two minutes to go in the first half.
Both 2-point conversion attempts failed, and the Bears (8-2, 6-2 region) led 12-0 at halftime.
Hopson opened the second-half scoring with an 80-yard touchdown jaunt that put the game away.
Simon ran 17 times for 129 yards.
Billingsley quarterback Mario Reese completed seven passes in 16 attempts, and Andrew Davis (13 tackles) and Matt Paulene (11) led the defensive effort.
