Lydia Mae Underwood, 92, of Thorsby died Tuesday, Oct. 28 at St. Vincent’s Hospital.
She was born Friday, June 23, 1916 in Chilton County, daughter of the late Acie McCary and the late Ethel Ray McCary.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her daughter, Judy (Charles) Gray of Thorsby; four sons, Bobby (Jan) Underwood of Birmingham, Billy (Donna) Underwood of Shelby, Jerry (Leita) Underwood of Thorsby, Larry (Terry) Underwood of Thorsby; daughter-in-Law, Margaret Underwood of Jemison;10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one great-grandchild; brother, Pete Dawson of Jemison.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Underwood; son, John W. Underwood; great-granddaughter, Katelyn Denise Underwood.
Friends will be received today from 5-8 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home.
Services will be held Friday, Oct. 31 at 2p.m. at Pates Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Shawn Bright officiating.
Burial will follow in Pates Chapel Baptist Cemetery.
