Local young lady competes for the Miss Jr. Teen Birmingham Title

Megan White, of Clanton, was recently selected to participate in Nationals’ 2008 Miss Jr. Teen Birmingham pageant competition that will be held November 16. Megan learned of her acceptance into this year’s competition as Nationals, Inc. announced their selections Monday afternoon. Megan submitted an application and took part in an interview conducted by Patty Neidert, the Birmingham Pageant coordinator.

Megan will be competing for her share of thousands of dollars in prizes and specialty gifts that will be distributed to contestants. She will compete in modeling casual wear and formal wear with young ladies ages 7 through 19. She will also display her personality and interviewing skills with this year’s judging panel.

The winner will represent Birmingham and the surrounding communities at the Cities of America National Competition in Orlando, Fla. Over $60,000 in prizes and awards will be presented to the winner. Each contestant at this level will enjoy an all expenses paid trip to Orlando.

Community businesses, organizations and individuals will offer financial support by sponsoring Megan in the pageant. Through sponsorship each contestant will receive the necessary training and rehearsal which will allow them to become prepared for the competition.
