BIRMINGHAM – Alabama’s drought situation remains unchanged from the previous week.
The assessment comes from the U.S. Drought Monitor.
Specialists say October is considered the driest month, and they expect little change through the end of the year.
Less than half of Alabama is drought-free. Thursday’s report stated that approximately 53 percent of the state is under some stage of drought.
