Sen. Hank Erwin and Rep. Jimmy Martin presented a resolution to Mulberry Baptist Church last Sunday during homecoming services.

The legislators helped celebrate the 190th anniversary of the church, which was established in 1818, a year before Alabama became a state.

The resolution acknowledged the age of the church and several deceased members who were outstanding in recent church progress and history.

The Rev. Greg Grooms, son of Sue and the late H.Y. Grooms delivered an inspiring message. Special music was by Adrianne Barrington and the church choir.

A super covered dish dinner was enjoyed by the big crowd afterward.
