Ellison finishes recruit training

Cameron Ellison a 2008 graduate from Thorsby High School recently earned the title “U.S. Marine” upon graduation from the Marine Corps recruit training at Parris Island, S.C.

Ellison completed Marine Corps Boot Camp, 13 weeks of training including instruction in first aid, general military subjects, physical fitness, Marine Corps history and weapons familiarization.

He received a first class score on the Marine Physical Fitness Test and while on the rifle range he earned a sharpshooter badge.

Immediately after Boot Camp he took 10 days of leave. Following his leave he was assigned recruiter’s assistance. Monday he departed for North Carolina where he is attending School of Infantry.

Ellison is the son of Lynn and Cheryl Ellison of Thorsby.
