Host Maplesville KOs A.L. Johnson

Maplesville racked up 441 total yards on Friday night, held A.L. Johnson to 6 yards, won 48-0 and clinched a playoff spot.

Brian Bailey scored three touchdowns for the Red Devils (6-1, 6-1 region) during the first quarter of the game to give his team a 21-0 lead.

After the first touchdown, Patrick Alteena tried for two, but the play was called back and the score was left at 6-0. Maplesville then scored their second touchdown, and Alteena ran for the extra two points to bring the score to 14-0.

The last play of the first quarter was the third touchdown by Bailey on a 25-yard pass. Alteena tried for the extra point kick and made it, ending the first quarter at 21-0.

Chris Reeves opened the second quarter of the game with a running touchdown followed by a missed extra point. Hunter McCay ran in the second touchdown of the quarter on a 50-yard punt return before the end of the first half. With Alteena’s good extra point, the score at the end of the first half was 34-0.

The third quarter was the last scoring quarter of the game with James Madsen and Romeo Laister each scoring one touchdown. Alteena added both extra points.
