This weekend I completed an almost 400 mile round trip to Florida from Clanton. I thought the residents of Chilton County should know that out of the miles that were traveled, Clanton had the highest price for gasoline.

The closest price was in Prattville.

It was, however, 20 cents lower.

The greatest disparity was in Luverne, Ala. where it was almost 50 cents cheaper per gallon.

This leaves one to wonder why are our gas prices are so much higher.
