Fair was big success

“If you build it, they will come.” This famous line can apply to the Chilton County Fair in recent years.

The Clanton Kiwanis Club has really turned the fair into something we can be proud of, with many new events that have grown immensely popular. The crowd at the Demolition Derby alone spoke for itself, and Gospel Night was a brand new event for this year.

Agricultural exhibits by the Cooperative Extension System provided even more opportunities for people of all ages to learn a little something new and have fun while doing it.

That’s how you get people to come to an event. You provide a variety of activities that reach a broad range of interest, and make it affordable to the public.

The price of admission has come down over the years. It’s also good to know that a percentage of the proceeds go toward organizations that help local people.

With fresh ideas each year, the fair will continue to be a big hit.
