Mustangs sweep visiting Jemison

Isabella erased early deficits to Jemison in the first two games of last night’s match then cruised in the third game to win 25-16, 25-22, 25-14.

The Panthers (16-7) led 12-8 in Game 1, but two Amber Wyatt kills and two Krysta Tyler aces led a run that saw the Mustangs (21-3) take a 16-12 lead.

Game 2 was tied as late as 22-all.

The Isabella junior varsity (25-17, 25-10) and junior high (25-13, 23-25, 15-10) teams were also victorious.

Devan Gallet had five kills, three aces and two blocks for Isabella, and Jessica Maciel six assists and six aces.

Tyler had 16 assists and seven aces for the varsity Mustangs. Wyatt was good for 12 kills and 4 1/2 blocks.

RaeLynn Liveoak had nine digs, and Kimi Jones had 10 digs.

Both Dallis Vanderslice and Tabatha Cork had 12 digs and served 100 percent from the line for Jemison.

Kasi Wells had 10 assists, and Christie Hoffmeyer posted six digs and five kills.
