NASCAR fans in Chilton County will have the chance to get up close and personal with one of Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s racecars Tuesday.
The car will be on display at Chilton County High School from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday as part of a National Guard recruiting event.
Trent Martin with the National Guard Armory in Clanton said he was fortunate that the car would be able to make a stop here in the county.
“I just thought folks would love to come by and see the car,” he said. “Chilton County is definitely Dale Earnhardt country.”
While Junior might not be able to come next week, an official from Hendrick Motorsports will be there with the car and the trailer. Martin said people are welcome to stop by, check out the car and take pictures if they would like.
The National Guard will also be there to meet new recruit prospects. Martin said they will have information about the Guard and will be talking to new recruits.
The vehicle coming to Clanton has been used in a NASCAR Sprint Cup race.
“It isn’t going to be the same car that is used in the race because they will be testing at Talladega, preparing for Sunday’s race,” Martin said. “Everyone is welcome to come out and see the car.”
